What is the DKT?

The DKT is a computer-based road rules knowledge test. You have to answer 45 questions. You'll have to pay a test fee each time you attempt the test. You have to answer 45 questions.

There are two parts to the test, 15 general knowledge questions and 30 road safety questions. You should read each question carefully before answering as there's no time limit to complete the test.

how can I be sure to pass the dkt?

Practice makes perfect. Make sure to complete the RMS practice test before you attempt the real thing! RMS offers a great DKT Practice Test app (available in the App Store). Also make sure to thoroughly read through the Road User's Handbook, as everything you need to know is found in there. (See below).

DKT QUESTION BANK

The driver knowledge test consists of 45 multiple choice questions, each with 3 options. While the test consists of 45 questions, these questions are pulled from a bank of 364.

It would be a good idea to download the question bank and revise them all. Once you are confident in your knowledge base have a go at the practice test.

THE ROAD USER'S HANDBOOK

The Road User’s handbook is produced by the Roads and Maritime Services (RMS). This booklet contains every road rule which will need to be understood if you want to pass the driver knowledge test (DKT) and hold a driver’s licence in NSW.
