Salim

I am a person with an intellectual disability and mild autism so dealing with different personalities can be difficult for me sometimes, especially in high pressure situations like driving delivers. But Salim was a very delicate and informative driving instructor who took me under his wing for 5 years to perfect and learn my driving skills. I had a car accident during my sixth ever driving lesson with my dad whilst I was only 16. Fast forward five years and Salim consistently took me for driving lessons under the NDIS system where he would take me on an hour long drives to help me improve on my skills. At first, he helped me get past my trauma that I had experienced from my initial accident by giving me careful and clear instructions on how to turn the steering wheel, keeping the car straight to stay in the lane and then eventually how to change lanes and perform a three point turn and eventually parking, all of which Salim instructed in a delicate, very informative, simple yet effective step-by-step way that made it super easy and efficient for me to understand. Salim’s commitment and unwavering support during my 5 years doing lessons with him will never go unnoticed. I am and always will be forever grateful for Salim. If it weren’t for Salim, I don’t think I’ll be half the driver I currently am today. I just got my P’s very recently after 10 years on my L’s and he was a huge part in that. Thank you for your professionalism and your constructive and realistic criticism along the way! You are truly an inspirational and an amazing driving instructor.
