I would like to thank Jonathan You for his professionalism, patience and diligence with training me for the driving test. In just four lessons with Jonathan, my driving has improved tremendously. I feel that I have become a much more confident and safer driver. The skills which he taught me are invaluable. He taught me to drive not only to pass the driving test but to drive safely for the rest of my driving career.
With so many available driving schools and methods of teachings out there, it’s not easy to find the right teacher for you. When I first started to drive, I initially chose a cheaper private instructor. I completed ten structured driving lessons with this cheaper instructor, and it was a huge mistake. This instructor shouted at me, hated being asked questions and would constantly take phone calls from other students and attend to other personal responsibilities during the lesson. By the end of those ten lessons, I had gained little confidence with my driving and truly felt like I had wasted my money.
When I took my first lesson with Jonathan, it felt like a breath of fresh air. Jonathan encouraged me to ask questions and was always courteous and thorough with his explanations. For example, whenever Jonathan wanted to show me the correct distance between my car and a stop line, or my car and another parked car in front of me, he would take me to a quiet street and make me exit the car so that I can clearly see the actual distance of my car to the stop line or parked car. Taking this extra step with teaching his students is what sets Jonathan apart from other instructors and I cannot thank him enough.
As a learner driver preparing for the test, you hear a lot of misconceptions and wrong advice from people around you. I always felt that I could come to Jonathan and clarify any doubts I had about the driving test and road rules. He was always attentive to my questions and paid full attention to my driving in order to help me.
In addition to this, I praise Jonathan for maintaining a high standard of hygiene with his vehicle during the COVID-19 pandemic. He made me wear disposable gloves before touching the steering wheel and he wore a face mask. As he has many students that drive his car, this initiative made me feel safe that I was not at risk of catching COVID-19 when driving his car. I appreciate that he has taken this extra step to ensure our safety during the driving lessons.
