If you haven't already completed your Certificate IV in Transport and Logistics (Road Transport- Car Driving Instruction) TLI41218, we provide the course through our sister company Academy of Road Safety.

Academy of Road Safety offers a highly flexible learning schedule and we will deliver this training according to your availability. We always aim to create the best possible, smooth and stress-free learning experience. We understand that you may be juggling other commitments, which is why we also offer this training online. You will still receive support and assistance from us when you require it. This can be over the phone, email or in person.

This course provides the following:

  • You will learn to provide training to learner drivers in a number of situations to create safe and capable drivers.
  • You will gain an understanding of the ways people learn best and how to design and develop learning programs and create or source the tools needed to teach them.
  • By the end of the course, you will be able to plan and present lessons and keep records of your students’ progress.
  • Academy of Road Safety will teach you the necessary foundations of driver training with their detailed instruction topics.
  • Comprehensive lesson planning and assessment tools are provided for you to use.

  • You will gain a full understanding of the RMS requirements for learner drivers and how to help them through the testing period.

There are two components to our course:

1.Theory Training

The theory component is completed online via our online course. You will be able to track your knowledge growth and skills through our carefully planned assessments and interactive material. You are able to learn with flexibility because the assessments are online. Our team of expert assessors will be able to guide you through the course and help you along the way.

2.Practical Training

One of our accredited and experienced trainers will be assigned to you and will help you through the Practical Course. The practical training is conducted on road and in-car in a location nearest to your local area. Practical training is available throughout Sydney and Melbourne. Students outside the Sydney areas are required to come to these areas to train and are presented the practical component in block sessions.

The practical training is competency based. It is completely dependent on the amount of knowledge you can gain throughout the course and how willing you are to learn and practice as necessary.

The practical component is made up of 22 hours of one-on-one training plus 5 hours of assessment. If any of the assessments are failed then additional sessions will be required. The more work you put in the fewer hours you will need with your trainer. At the end of your practical training, you will complete a final assessment. This is performed in-car and on-road with one of our specially selected assessors in a specifically chosen location. This will test your readiness for the job and complete your training.
